kong is king
i watched 2 movies today: "just like heaven" and "king kong".
"just like heaven" is one of those feel-good movies. it makes you feel like the world is full of love and people do fall in love and all ends happily ever after. i'm no cynic. i have to say a large part of me does believe in such things. but after i soak in the romantic atmosphere in my head, the more pragmatic part of me will burst that bubble. and i get on with my normal life. where people fall in love normally. and normally they'll have kids. then they get bored; they can decide to divorce or stick together and work for 'family life' (which incidentally means 'no-romance-no-sex life'). shit i just said i'm not a cynic.
on to "king kong". i liked the show. it's got everything in it.
testosterone-charged mega fight scene with t-rexes and a giant monkey who doesn't shave.
the damsel in distress.
she may have screamed too much, but she did it really well. naomi watts is beautiful! she looked great from every angle.
and if she can pull off the nightie look, she must be something. like carl the director said, "beauty killed the beast". kill me, naomi!
look at the sunrise scenes. how romantic. peter jackson's an amazing director. he managed to cramp all that into a 3-hour film. one of the best in 2005 for me. he deserves some applause.
i did notice one thing that peter jackson and kong have in common: they both don't shave.
